What is HHC?

Must read

In the present scenario, it is found that the HHC crosses the broad gray line of legality in the fields of Cannabis and Hemp. However, until and unless the definite legalization is announced, the producers and consumers are assuming that these are the legal products. Also, having full knowledge and control of this can be daunting as these are something new in the vast industry of CBD and THC. But with some reports, it is found that there are several potential things that this newbie provides.

However, unlike other Cannabinoids, these are also Cannabinoids but are new in recent times. According to the research, the state and the federal state further decided to provide a ban on the Delta 8 THC. This is possible as it cannot elude the drug test and is not like THC. Nevertheless, the HHC provides much more potency on its legality and also ensures the canna-enthusiasts.

What is HHC?

The full form and scientific name of HHC are defined as the 11-Nor-9β-hydroxy-hexahydro cannabinol. It is a semi-synthetic Cannabinoid along with the properties of the hydrogenation that are obtained from the THC. This was first manufactured in 1944 by Roger Adams, an American chemist. However, to obtain this, the chemist performed Hydrogenation. Nevertheless, nowadays, a modern approach is used. Furthermore nowadays, a low amount of Hemp and Cannabis plants extracts are used to create this Cannabinoid.

Types of HHC

Normally there are 10 types of HHC available and are commonly known in the market:

  • 9a- hydroxy-hexahydro cannabinol
  • H HU 211 — 1,1-Dimethylheptyl-11-hydroxy tetrahydrocannabinol
  • HHC– Hexahydrocannabinol
  • 7-9a-OH— 7-oxo-9a-hydroxy-hexahydro cannabinol
  • HU243 — 11-Hydroxy-3-tetrahydrocannabinol
  • 8-OH-iso— 8-hydroxy-iso-tetrahydrocannabinol
  • 7-hydroxy-hexahydro cannabinol
  • HDHHC — 3-Dimethylheptyl-11-hydroxy-hexahydro cannabinol
  • 10a-ROH— 10aR-hydroxy-hexahydro cannabinol
  • 10a-OH— 10a-hydroxy-hexahydro cannabinol

How is the HHC derived?

As you already know, HHC is a semi-synthetic compound and is normally produced in the laboratory with the help of Hydrogenation, unlike the Delta 8 THC. Hydrogenation further structures the delta 9 THC by replacing the double bond that occurs between the two hydrogen atoms. This results in a change in molecular weight and makes the compound more stable. According to Mark Scialdone, this process helps maintain stability and regains the resistance to thermo-oxidative breakdown.

However, Hexahydrocannabinol is obtained when a specific amount of hydrogen is required to a cannabis compound to form the alteration in the chemical structure. Then a metal catalyst is provided to grow the reaction of the compound. This addition of the catalysts helps to grow the overall reaction of the compound without damaging the product. Some of the catalysts included in the formation of the THC are palladium, platinum, and nickel. However, the catalysts can be removed once the required reaction is obtained.

What are the benefits of HHC?

Just like other varieties of Cannabinoid, the information related to the HHC is also available in a low amount. But some information is still present in the vast world of Cannabinoid that provides the immediate and long-term effects of this. Also, as these are not liable for the cannabis laws in the legal adulating of society, the producers and retailers fail to test this product, which is why no evidence is provided for the purity, safety, and potency hemp-derived Cannabidiol are available.

In addition, among all the Cannabinoids that are available in the recent market, HHC is the only one to share the therapeutic and chemical structure of this with the Delta 9 THC, commonly known as the THC. These, in simple terms, can include the properties of CBD and THC, which provides shreds of evidence that it can provide relief from the pain. Anxiety, cerebral and body inflammation and also promotes happiness and relaxation.

According to the research reports of 2011, it is further found that the synthetic analogs of the HHC can strongly deal with the breast cancer cell and can prevent tumor growth and angiogenesis.

Conclusion

Thus, these are highly effective compounds, and further research reports also agree that they can benefit from pain and inflammation. Also, as these are quite similar to THC and CBD, they can promote a little psychoactive effect among the individuals.
